How to get an ISBN | Comment obtenir un ISBN

If you are ever looking to self-publish a book that you plan on putting in a library or a store, you might find yourself in the position of needing to get an International Standard Book Number, also known as an ISBN.  In Canada you can get an ISBN from the Library and Archives Canada:

If you are looking for an ISBN in a different country, the following website can help you determine the granting agency:

https://www.isbn-international.org/agencies

Pick your country from the drop-down list.  Note that the web link given for the agency takes you to the agency page and not necessarily to the ISBN page for that agency.  So, you might have to do another search through the agency page or by searching for the agency name and ISBN in a web search engine such as Google, Yahoo, etc.
