I
managed to finish off all the pencils and the inks this week! Everything has been scanned in, but the inks
still need minor corrections done through Photoshop. I also still need to do the textures in
pencil and then add colour to the pages.

The rest of this week was spent requesting an ISBN and visiting print shops to get quotes and to determine printing timelines, in addition to getting test prints done. The second image below shows that even when using the same file and printing on the same paper, you will get some significant variations in colour from one print shop to another, and even from one printer to another within the same print shop. So, it is always best to do a test print with the printer that will print your final book and adjust things accordingly.
Since print shops need anywhere from 2 working days to 2 weeks to print up to 100 copies of a comic, I have had to adjust my timelines slightly to make sure everything will be ready on time.

J’ai réussi à finir tous les crayonnés et l’encrage
cette semaine! Tout a été numérisé, mais des corrections mineures doivent
encore être faites à l’encrage avec Photoshop. Il me reste aussi à faire les
textures au crayon puis colorer la page. Jetez un coup d’œil à l’image
ci-dessous pour voir la page 4 avant les corrections.
Le reste de la semaine a été passée à faire une
demande d’ISBN et visiter les imprimeries pour demander des devis et déterminer
les échéanciers d’impressions, en plus de faire faire des tests d’impression. La
deuxième image ci-dessous démontre que, même en utilisant le même fichier et
imprimant sur le même type de papier, on peut obtenir une variation
considérable de couleurs d’une imprimerie à l’autre et même entre différentes
imprimantes dans une même imprimerie. Donc, il est toujours de mise de faire un
test d’impression avec l’imprimante qui sera utilisée pour imprimer votre livre
final et ajuster les choses en conséquence.
Puisque les imprimeries peuvent prendre entre 2 jours
et 2 semaines pour imprimer jusqu’à 100 copies d’une bande dessinée, j’ai eu à
légèrement ajuster mon échéancier pour m’assurer que tout sera prêt à temps.
